Vice President, Operations, Mission Hospital Laguna Beach
Michael Beck serves as Vice President, Ancillary Operations at Mission Hospital, reporting to the Chief Operations and Integration Officer. In this role, Beck is responsible for the successful leadership of Support Services (including Facilities, EVS, NCS, Integrated Operations and Safety/Security), Laboratory, and Care Continuum (including Rehab Services, Acute Rehab, Care Management and Clinical Social Work). Beck is also the resident executive at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, acting as Public and Community Relations officer there and ensuring MHLB aligns with Mission Hospital's core values and business objectives
During his 17-year tenure, Beck has served as both the Vice President of Quality and Systems Improvement and Compliance and Privacy Officer at Mission Hospital. He has been responsible for establishing organizational systems, bringing together divergent prospectives to work toward common goals, initiate procedures and practices to achieve and maintain state and federal health care regulatory requirement, overseen development and execution of numerous hospital policies and procedures based on healthcare regulations including requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
A graduate of Abilene Christian University in Texas, Beck holds a master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He also maintains his California License in Speech Pathology and holds a certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In 2002, he was granted Certified Professional in health care Quality status by the Healthcare Quality Certification Board which recognizes professional and academic achievement by individuals in the field of healthcare quality management.
