Release a Butterfly in Honor of a Loved one and Support Mission Hospital’s Hospice and Palliative Care Services

The community is invited to participate in a special Butterfly Celebration in honor or in memory of loved ones on Sunday, June 5 at 3 Mission Hospital Laguna Beach (31862 Coast Highway, Laguna Beach). The Auxiliary of Mission Hospital Laguna Beach is hosting the event in support of hospice and palliative care services for terminally ill patients. Each participant will receive their own butterfly to release during the event. There will also be an additional 500 butterflies released by Chairs Patti Fouse and Leslie Wilhelm.

Donations to the Butterfly Celebration benefit hospice care and fund special services such as music therapy and massage, an expanded bereavement program and sponsored care for those patients who are unable to pay for hospice services. Mission Hospital's dedicated care team includes specially trained chaplains, nurses, counselors, social workers and volunteers who work together to provide comfort and support to patients and their families through the difficult final stages of illness. With compassion and dignity, this team is committed to meeting each patient's physical, psychological and spiritual needs, helping them enjoy every minute they have with family and friends.

Although there is no charge to attend the event, donations are greatly appreciated. For more information on how to make a donation to the Butterfly Celebration or to RSVP to attend the event and release a butterfly in honor of a loved one, please contact Cyndi McCanne in the Foundation office at 365-2453.
