Golf Tournament Raises $360,000 for Mission Hospital

Mission Viejo, CA - The 18th Annual Mission Hospital Golf Classic presented by Audi and Infiniti of Mission Viejo was held at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club on June 28. Thanks to the generosity of more than 100 sponsors and the participation of 275 golfers, the event raised net proceeds of more than $360,000 to benefit Mission Hospital.

Audi and Infiniti of Mission Viejo partnered with Mission Hospital as the tournament sponsor for the second year in a row. "I am honored to support the life-saving work at Mission Hospital," said Audi and Infiniti of Mission Viejo owner Matt Gunderson. "As a local business owner and nearby resident, it gives me great peace of mind to know that there is a world-class hospital right here in our own community."

After a round of golf on either the north or south course, golfers were treated to a cocktail reception featuring Ketel One's ice martini bar; silent auction, dinner, awards and live auction. The live auction offered high end prize packages including a stay at the exclusive penthouse at the Palms Place Hotel and Spa in Las Vegas valued at $24,000; trips to New York City and Santa Fe, rounds of golf with PGA Tour professionals and dinner with former Laker James Worthy.

During the dinner and awards ceremony, Peter F. Bastone, Mission Hospital's President and Chief Executive Officer thanked all the sponsors, golfers, event co-chairs Cliff Carper and Don Delmonico, and sponsor chair Chris Walsh: "Since the tournament began 18 years ago, $2.2 million has been raised for Mission Hospital. This success is a testament to the outstanding leadership of our volunteers and the generous Spirit of Giving of our sponsors and golfers."

The evening concluded with the highly anticipated announcement of the winner of a brand new Audi or Infiniti. Matt Gunderson randomly picked a winning ticket from 1,374 opportunity tickets sold prior to the event. Gunderson called the winner, Gina Olsen of Ladera Ranch to share the good news while the crowd cheered.

The evening's program also featured an award presentation to the tournament winners and recognition of the event's major corporate sponsors, which included: Tournament Sponsor Audi and Infiniti of Mission Viejo, Presenting Sponsor Cox Business, and Platinum Sponsors Sunwest Bank; U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management; The Word & Brown Companies.
