Annual Fashion Show Raises $314,000 in Net Proceeds for Camino Health Center
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – The 29th Annual Camino Health Center Auxiliary Fashion Show and Luncheon was held at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel on Tues., November 26. The event was chaired by Lynn Maioriello and planned by the Camino Health Center Auxiliary, raising net proceeds of $314,000 for Camino Health Center. Camino, a Federally Qualified Health Center in San Juan Capistrano, is affiliated with Mission Hospital and has been providing affordable primary care to the people of south Orange County for the past 31 years.
"We live in a county of contrasts. What everyone perceives as a place of immense wealth is unfortunately also the home to severe economic hardship," said Mission Hospital's President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth D. McFarland to the audience of over 450. "Poor health impairs learning ability and quality of life, hurts productivity, and drains family savings. In Orange County, serious health issues for some threaten the well-being of the entire community. Camino provides hope and healing to them during these tough times."
During the luncheon, guests enjoyed a New York-style fashion show sponsored and produced by South Coast Plaza which featured fashions from high-end South Coast Plaza retailers including Anne Fontaine, BOSS Hugo Boss, DKNY, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Faconnable, Marni, MaxMara, Saks Fifth Avenue, St. John and Stuart Weitzman, as well as informal modeling was by David Yurman and Salvatore Ferragamo. In addition to the more than 100 silent auction items, the event also offered four luxury opportunity drawings for travel destinations.
The event was supported in large part through individual and corporate sponsorships, including Diamond: South Coast Plaza; Platinum: Bank of America and Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo LLC; Gold: Mary J. George, Tim and Jill Harmon, and the Mission Hospital Executive Leadership Team and Media Sponsor: Orange Coast Magazine.
