Cancer Support Groups

A Step At A Time - A support group for women coping with breast cancer. The Nurse Navigator facilitates the group. Meets the second and fourth Monday of every month, 6 - 8 p.m. Held at Mission Women's Wellness Center classroom (171c).

Gary's Place for Kids - For children and adolescents who have experienced the loss of a parent. Meets the first and third Mondays of every month, from Sept - May, 6 - 7 p.m. Held at Mission Conference Center.

Live Well With Cancer - A program design to inform, support and assist individuals living with all forms of cancer. Meets the first and third Monday of every month, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Held at Mission Conference Center.

Lymphedema Education And Support - A network of support for individuals living with lymphedema. Meets the third Thursday of every month, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Held at Mission Medical Tower (Rehab/Sports/Wellness suite 291).

Needle While You Work - Join other knitters in making hats and blankets for women going through chemotherapy. Or knot scarves for fundraising efforts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Meets the first Monday of every month, 10 - 11 a.m. at Mission Women's Wellness Center.

Our Journey Together - A support group that specifically addresses the needs of women who have recurrent and/or metastatic breast cancer. Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mission Wellness Center conference room.

Blood Cancer Family Support - For adults, their families and friends living with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma or MDS. Third Tuesday of every month, 6 - 7:30 p.m. Call 714-481-5606 for further details.

Chemical Dependency (AA)

Held on our Laguna Beach campus, these programs are for individuals in recovery and their families. Please call (866) 633-6787 for exact locations.

AA Meetings
Daily, 7 – 8 a.m.
Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8 p.m. (Men’s/Women’s – separate sessions)
Saturdays, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Sundays, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Pills Anonymous
Mondays at 7 – 8:30 p.m.

12-Step Study (Chronic Pain Anonymous)

Grief Support Group

Living Life Again - A ten-week adult grief support series designed to inform, support and assist individuals living with a loss. Meets three times a year, Please call Sandy Fant at 949-364-1400 x5399 for dates and locations.

Heart Support Groups

Gift of Heart - Support group for patients awaiting an organ transplant or patients who have received a new organ and their families. Meets the fourth Monday of every other month, 7-8:30 p.m. Held at Mission Medical Tower (Rehab/Sports/Wellness suite 291).

Mended Hearts - Support group for those who have had open heart surgery and their families. Meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Held at Mission Conference Center.

Maternity Support Groups

Breastfeeding Support Group - Every Wednesday, 10-11 a.m. Join other mothers with babies of all ages, to discuss breast feeding joys and challenges, returning to work, nutrition and other topics. Hands-on help is not available during these meetings. Held at Mission Women's Wellness Center classroom 171c.

Postpartum Depression Support Group - This ongoing support group is for moms having unexpected feelings of anxiety, sadness isolation and depression following birth. Advanced registration is not required. Babies welcome. The postpartum depression support group is held Tuesdays, 10-11 a.m. at Mission Women's Wellness Center classroom 171c.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Education Program Support Group

As part of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Education Program, we strongly encourage patients' families to participate in the program to become acquainted with the daily routine of pulmonary-afflicted individuals. This helps them learn how to overcome the obstacles impairing a patient's quality of life. Family members are also invited to attend a support group, which offers the opportunity to build relationships with other families managing the same challenges.

PREP Support Group - Patients with chronic lung disease and their families. Second Thursday of every month, 12:30 - 2 p.m. For more info please call 949-365-2106.
