Cultural Distinctions

Culture

Mission Hospital is dedicated to advanced care and advanced caring. We understand that caring for patients and their families requires clinical expertise, in-depth knowledge and advanced technology. But it also requires a spirit of compassion and service - a dedication to something greater than ourselves. Our mission is to continually improve the health and quality of life in the communities we serve by extending the healing ministry of Jesus. Our vision is to provide compassionate care, promote health improvement and create healthy communities.

Values

The four core values of dignity, service, excellence and justice are the guiding principles for all we do. Each of us is committed to these values and works to make them present in our relationship with each other and with those whom we are privileged to share. They create an environment where patient welfare always comes first. Mission Hospital is part of the larger ministry of Catholic healthcare committed to continuing the healing ministry of Jesus.

Mission Hospital will:

  • Promote and Defend Human Dignity
  • Attend to the Whole Person
  • Care for the Poor and Vulnerable
  • Foster Community Well-being
  • Promote the Common Good
  • Act on Behalf of Justice
  • Steward its Resources; and
  • Act in Communion with the Church.

St. Joseph Health Goals

Our organization has a rich heritage of community collaboration dating back to the inception of our founders more than 350 years ago in Le Puy, France. Our founders were directed to go into the communities they served, assess the needs of the people, find partners with whom they could collaborate to address the needs. More than three centuries later our organization still follows this directive in our community benefit programs, charity care efforts and healthcare services. As a faith based integrated health system, our goal is to bring people together to ensure every interaction will be experienced as a sacred encounter; all patients receive perfect care; and our communities will be among the healthiest.

Living in Orange County

This is Southern California at its finest. Located in beautiful south Orange County, our community is surrounded with an endless variety of schools, arts, cuisine and captivating people. Close to the mountains and perched on the Pacific Ocean, it's no wonder that when people visit Orange County they never want to leave.

South Orange County is made up of many communities including Aliso Viejo, Capistrano Beach, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.
