Message From Our Medical Director
Deciding to enter treatment for alcohol, drug or pain medication dependency is one of the most difficult decisions a person will ever make. Yet it is also the most important, as it is the first step to reclaiming one’s life.
Through research, we know that people become dependent on alcohol and drugs for genetic and emotional reasons. 40 to 60 percent of the reason why people are in treatment is related to a biochemical imbalance in their brain, predisposing them to addiction prior to taking their first drink or drug. The other 40 to 60 percent is from “numbing” emotional baggage (anger, guilt, resentment, fear, inferiority, unworthiness, abandonment, self pity, grief, loss, abuse and more). Either way, addiction is a life-threatening disease. Fortunately, it is also treatable.
We’re pleased to offer one of the most inclusive and successful 30-day treatment programs available, uniquely based within an acute-care hospital. Here, more than 35 highly trained clinical and medical professionals are on staff and ready to meet our patients’ needs at any time. This treatment team develops and implements unique and individualized care plans that are evaluated on a daily basis.
We offer our comprehensive care in a calming, spa-like setting with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Our programs combine medically advanced, proven protocols and strategies that treat the “whole” person — body, mind and spirit. And they work. The majority of people who complete our full, intensive four-week program will succeed.
Whether you’re seeking recovery yourself or helping someone you care about, we welcome you to begin the journey and dedicate ourselves to making it an enriching one.
Sincerely,
Daniel Headrick, MD
