Admissions

Admissions are conducted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For information call 866-633-6787 (24-hours a day).

Pre-Admission Process

The Intake Staff will conduct an initial telephone interview with all prospective patients. (The exception to the telephone interview is when a prospective patient is being admitted after a formal intervention conducted by an Intervention Specialist. Mission Pacific Coast Recovery Intake staff will help coordinate the admission with the Family and Intervention specialist.)

The Intake Staff will gather Chemical use/abuse and dependence information, medical (including psychiatric) history and prior treatment/recovery exposure. This will help determine the appropriate treatment options. For the Chronic Pain patient we may request Medical Records prior to admission.

The Intake Staff will educate Family members on the importance of participation in the Family Program. In addition, the Intake staff will assist you by verifying your insurance. We can then discuss benefits and/or private pay options.

Every patient considering treatment at the Mission Pacific Coast Recovery will participate in a telephone interview with a member of our Intake staff*. Details on chemical use and dependence, medical and/or psychiatric history, and any prior exposure to treatment should be provided. During this call, our Intake staff will also provide information on our Family Program and how it can benefit recovery. In addition, we will help verify insurance and discuss benefits and/or private pay options.

*Patients admitted following an intervention by a certified Intervention Specialist do not have a pre-admission telephone interview.

Admission

An Intake nurse greets every patient and completes a nursing assessment, which includes taking temperature, blood pressure and pulse, and assessing for symptoms of chemical withdrawal. As a full-service, acute care hospital we can immediately address any urgent medical concerns. Next a tour of our facility will be given, ending at the patient’s room, where our staff will inventory belongings. If family members or friends are present, we will ask them to complete a questionnaire.

Within 24-hours of admission, patients have the opportunity to meet with a physician and be assigned a "buddy" to show them around, help them feel comfortable, and assist with the overall orientation process. Within the first few days of arrival, patients are also assigned a Primary Counselor to serve as a guide and mentor throughout all phases of treatment.

Orange County Airport (SNA) is the closest airport to the Mission Pacific Coast Recovery. Patients may also consider arriving at the Long Beach Airport (LGB), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or San Diego International Airport (SAN). We are also just a short drive from the Irvine, CA, train station.
