Newborn Baby Photos

Your baby's first few days are precious. Let Mission Hospital help you capture the moment of your child's first days with a portrait taken by Bella Baby Photography.

How it works

Your professional mini photo shoot will take place in the comfort of your hospital room. Friends and family are welcome to stay to view this special rite of passage. Bella Baby's professional photographers will photograph your baby and post photos to an online slideshow on bellababyphotography.com. Online viewing and ordering is available to anyone with whom you choose to share your password. The password protected online slideshow will be available 14 days after the photo shoot. The photographer will review prints, digital images and other items available for purchase.

Tips for a great photo shoot

  • Bring your favorite baby blanket from home for use in the photo shoot. A beautiful blanket can add texture, color and memories to your newborn's photo.
  • We love to include parent's hands in our photos. Wear clear or neutral polish on the day of your shoot. We want your baby to be the focus of the photos.
  • Bring a solid black, brown or gray shirt to wear in photos. We may photograph your baby in your arms. These colors look great in both color and black and white prints.

Newborn Channel

The Newborn Channel from The Wellness Network provides television programming on baby care and postpartum topics. The programming is available in your room, 24 hours a day. You will also be given a password, which will grant you access to view the programming on your mobile device during your hospital stay and even after you leave the hospital.

Birth Certificate and Social Security Number Assignment

After your newborn is born during your hospital stay, a Birth Registrar staff member will visit you in your room to complete the necessary information for the filing of your baby’s birth certificate. In order to complete the birth certificate information, we must have your baby’s name. To ensure that the birth records process proceeds smoothly for you, we would like to ask you to complete the Certificate Intake Form. This will ensure that the Birth Registrar has all the information needed to prepare the birth certificate for your child.

As a courtesy to our parents, we can help you obtain a social security number for your newborn. In order to do so, we must have your baby’s name at the time the birth certificate is completed. Your child’s social security card will be forwarded to you within five to eight weeks from the Social Security Administration Office.

Baby Honor Wall

The birth of a baby is a cherished moment for parents, grandparents, family and friends. If you are looking for a meaningful way to commemorate the birth of your baby, please consider making a gift to Mission Hospital’s Baby Honor Wall, to honor your precious baby while helping others receive the most advanced care.

For a tax-deductible gift of $200, your baby’s name and birth date will be listed on the Baby Honor Wall located in Mission Maternity Center.

Donation forms are available at our Welcome Baby Tour Night, on the Maternity Center and by clicking here.

The birth of a baby is a special time for everyone! You will be provided the opportunity to press a button on our “Angel” wall located in Labor and Delivery after the birth of your baby. Once this button is pressed a soft sound of the Brahms Lullaby will be heard throughout our hospital to announce your newborn’s arrival.
