Imaging and Diagnostics

Advanced Imaging for Women

The most advanced imaging capabilities in Orange County are available at Mission Imaging Center. As part of Mission Women's Wellness Center, accredited by the American College of Radiology and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the skilled radiologists and technologists have received specialized training in advanced imaging for women.

Screening Mammography

The best defense against breast cancer is having regular screening mammograms that utilize state-of-the-art technology. At Mission Imaging Center, we offer digital mammography as our gold standard. That means faster, more detailed results, in a shorter exam time. Patients ages 35 years and older do not require a physician order to have a baseline screening mammography procedure. To schedule a mammogram, call (949) 364-6900.

Technologically Advanced Imaging

We offer the most advanced MRI capabilities available with our 1.5 Tesla Magnetic, 12-Channel Coil. This provides the highest sensitivity imaging for the most accurate diagnosis. Detailed exams of the pelvic region identify abnormalities that may be caused by ovarian cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease and incontinence.

Ultrasound is another important diagnostic procedure available. Using high frequency sound waves that produce images of organs, tissue or blood flow, we perform transabdominal and endovaginal exams that find obstetrical or gynecological concerns at their earliest stages.

Dexa scans provide a technological approach to maintaining bone health. By measuring the density of bones, we can help a woman take proactive steps against osteoporosis or other bone-related conditions.

Breast Diagnostics

If breast cancer is suspected, Mission Imaging Center offers the only Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) services in Orange County. BSGI serves as a complementary adjunct diagnostic procedure to mammography and ultrasound for difficult-to-diagnose patients.

BSGI is ideal for patients with mammograms that are difficult to interpret due to a variety of factors, such as: dense breast tissue, suspicious areas on a mammogram, lumps that can be felt but not seen with mammography or ultrasound, implants and breast augmentation, scarring from previous surgeries and for women with an increased risk of breast cancer diagnosis.

Mission Imaging Center also offers minimally invasive biopsy procedures that include digital stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound guided biopsy, MRI guided biopsy and fine-needle aspiration.

When it comes to early detection, time is of the essence and the latest technology is essential. When you undergo a digital diagnostic procedure you'll get answers fast. Our skilled and compassionate radiologists will take the time to go over your results right then and there.
