Helping Laguna Beach & Mission Viejo Stay Healthy
Mission Hospital has an established history of community service for the
residents of south Orange County. We are committed to improving the health
and quality of life of the people we serve. In the past five years, we
have allocated more than $120 million to community benefit activities.
A cornerstone of the work we do is through partnerships, working with
others “of like minds” to create change. We work with dozens
of local non-profits, faith based organizations, civic leaders and local
residents to understand and respond to the needs of the community.
Each Mind Matters
When it comes to health, peoples’ minds deserve the same attention
as their bodies. That’s why Mission Hospital is activating Each
Mind Matters, California’s Mental Health Movement, in south Orange
County. The statewide initiative was created to unite millions of individuals
who share a vision of improved mental health and equality for all.

Family Resource Centers (FRCs)
Established in 1996, the South Orange County Family Resource Center (SOCFRC)
has been serving approximately 5000 people each year. In 1998, the Community
Health Enrichment Collaborative Family Resource Center (CHEC FRC) opened
to better serve the residents of San Juan Capistrano and neighboring communities.
The Family Resource Centers bring together services and activities that
educate, support and provide resources for families in need.
Programs include parent, teen and child education classes, support groups,
counseling services, and information/resources. Many programs are offered
in Spanish and can be provided in the community at local schools, churches
or in home. The Family Resource Centers are a collaborative effort between
Mission Hospital, The Raise Foundation, Children’s Bureau of Southern
California, Human Options and a variety of other social service agencies.
