Family Resource Centers (FRCs)
Established in 1996, the South Orange County Family Resource Center (SOCFRC) has been serving approximately 5000 people each year. In 1998, the Community Health Enrichment Collaborative Family Resource Center (CHEC FRC) opened to better serve the residents of San Juan Capistrano and neighboring communities. The Family Resource Centers bring together services and activities that educate, support and provide resources for families in need.
Programs include parent, teen and child education classes, support groups, counseling services, and information/resources. Many programs are offered in Spanish and can be provided in the community at local schools, churches or in home. The SOCFRC is a collaborative effort between Mission Hospital, The Raise Foundation, Children's Bureau of Southern California, and Community Service Programs, Inc. CHEC FRC is a collaborative effort between Mission Hospital, Orange County Social Services Agency, The Mission Basilica, The Raise Foundation, and The City of San Juan Capistrano.
