Mission Stroke Center
|
When someone you love is experiencing a stroke and requires emergency care, it is reassuring to know that expert help is immediately available. Stroke care requires a dedicated team available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Mission Stroke Center is committed to our community to diagnose, treat and manage stroke patients.
| |
Offering the region’s most comprehensive neuro care, Mission Hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center – the only community-based hospital in Orange County and one of only two hospitals countywide to hold this elite certification. This elite distinction recognizes expert physicians and staff have the capabilities to deliver the most advanced stroke care for critical cases. Less than five percent of hospital’s in the U.S. hold a Primary Stroke Center certification.

Today, there are nearly 4.7 million people in the United States who have had a stroke and survived…and many continue to lead normal, productive lives. More than 700,000 people in the United States suffer strokes annually. Stroke is the leading cause of disability in adults. When a stroke is not recognized and treated promptly, it can result in death or severe loss of function.
|
Sudden, unpredictable, and often devastating, a stroke is one of the most dreaded of all medical emergencies. Thanks to recent advances in medicine, however, it no longer needs to be a catastrophe. Physicians can now diagnose and treat a stroke faster and better than ever, frequently heading off serious damage and saving patients from long-term disability.
