The South Orange County Family Resource Center (SOCFRC) provides education, support, and resources to enhance the process of family growth through the development of skills that benefit themselves and their children, promote health and foster a sense of community.
Our collaborative includes partners: Mission Hospital, The Raise Foundation, Children’s Bureau of Southern California, and Community Service Programs, Inc. The center serves the entire south County from Lake Forest to San Clemente with parenting support and education services at the Center or in the community. The Center serves all families with a special focus on the underserved.
The Center was established in 1996 after a Needs Assessment in South County found many parents reported feeling isolated and had no place to go for parenting support and services. Extended family lived far away and many services were located in the central part of the county. The Center first started at the Mall, now known as the Shops at Mission Viejo and we moved to College Center in 1998.
