Dr. Feng graduated Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, with degrees in music and biologic sciences from the University of California, Irvine. After his undergraduate work, he obtained his medical degree at the Ohio State University in 1996. He completed his three year internal medicine residency at UCI Medical Center. He then received three more years of subspecialty fellowship training at Harbor-UCLA and UCLA Medical Center, where his emphasis was on advanced and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Dr. Feng is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology/hepatology. His clinical interests include colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, evaluation of abdominal pain, and biliary/pancreatic diseases. Dr. Feng has co-authored a number of journal publications and abstracts. His research work studied the use of EUS guided fine needle aspiration in cancer detection and staging. He has served on the Cancer and Medical Executive Committees at Mission Hospital and has been with the Mission Internal Medical Group since 2002. Dr. Feng believes in personal and quality care and values patient and family input when faced with challenging clinical decisions.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Feng invests much of his pastime playing and making music. He was the lead guitarist for the rock groups Field of Steel and Fusion. He has also sung and recorded in a number of Christian/gospel CD albums. He shares his passion for music with his wife, who is a classically trained pianist and instructor. Dr. Feng currently serves on the worship team at the Harvest Community Church of Irvine. He is the proud father of two boys. Having emigrated from Taiwan at the age of 10, he is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
