Schumacher Healing Garden

Margaret Schumacher made a $1 million donation to Mission Hospital in memory of her late husband Dr. David Schumacher, who was a former patient at Mission. "We felt loved and cared for while David was at Mission Hospital. We immediately felt as though we had joined a family," said Mrs. Schumacher. "The care was quite exceptional and outstanding. David was legally blind and he especially loved listening to the beautiful live harp music during his hospital stays - a truly delightful healing touch. In grateful recognition of this gift, Mission Hospital created a special garden just outside the new Chapel named the Schumacher Healing Garden. The garden provides a peaceful outdoor setting for patients, visitors and staff.
