Out of more than 200 physician organizations in California,
St. Jude Heritage Medical Group is one of only 22 to win the 2015 “Excellence in Healthcare”
award from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA).
In keeping with the national imperative to reduce the cost of the health
care system while delivering high quality care to consumers, this award
recognizes physician organizations in the state that have succeeded in
managing costs while ensuring their patients receive high quality, evidence-based
care. To earn this recognition, physician organizations must have performance
that ranks in the top 50 percent of organizations for each of three domains:
clinical quality, patient experience and total cost of care based on the
IHA statewide Value Based P4P program results for measurement year 2014.
“We are honored and proud to be among the elite medical groups to
receive this award,” said James Benoit, MD, medical director, SJuHMG.
“Our physicians and staff have worked hard to be a leader in population
health and offer the highest quality clinical care and patient experience
as efficiently as possible. I am thrilled that St. Jude Heritage Medical
Group is being recognized for this achievement.”
IHA also honored the physician organizations that demonstrated the highest
relative quality improvement from 2013 to 2014 from each of eight California
regions with the P. Bangasser, MD, Memorial Award for Quality Improvement.
Mission Heritage Medical Group was honored with this award for highest improvement in the Orange County region.
“Mission Heritage Medical Group is dedicated to raising the bar on
performance improvement,” said Rudy Marquez, MD, medical director,
MHMG. “We are honored and proud to be an award winner this year.
It demonstrates the continued commitment of our physicians and staff to
provide exceptional care, and the many outstanding new programs and quality
measures we’ve implemented to improve the health care experience.”
