Mission Hospital is among the top 10% of hospitals in the nation to receive this honor. Magnet® Recognition (2012-present) Magnet Recognition® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center is the highest and most prestigious distinction a health care organization can receive. It is characterized by nursing excellence and high quality patient care outcomes. Only 8% of U.S. hospitals earn Magnet® designation. Mission was first awarded Magnet® status in 2012 and earned re-designation in 2017. Magnet® hospitals attract top nursing talent and foster a more supportive culture for caregivers. 2018-19 U.S. News and World Report Best Regional Hospitals Mission Hospital earned the distinction of being ranked No. 1 in south Orange County, No. 3 in Orange County, No. 7 in the Los Angeles metro area, and No. 12 in the state of California. Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence - Healthgrades 2017 Healthgrades named Mission Hospital among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation based on overall clinical excellence, objective clinical outcomes, and comprehensive and consistent quality. Healthgrades helps consumers to understand, compare and evaluate hospital performance. Data from nearly 4,500 hospitals was considered and only 258 hospitals were recognized in 2017. The Joint Commission (2018-2021) In the final report, following our unannounced triennial accreditation survey, we received significant praise from the surveyors for displaying best practices in dozens of areas. The final report demonstrated our commitment to high quality patient care – not a single condition-level finding was identified. Mission is the only hospital to be surveyed in 2018 in the Providence St. Joseph Health family with zero condition-level findings.
