Documents to bring:

  • Driver’s license or other ID card
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Living will/advanced directive/power of attorney (if applicable)
  • Names and telephone numbers of physicians and therapists
  • List of all prescribed medications (include dosage, how it is prescribed, and the prescribing physician)

What to pack:

  • All current medications, including all addictive substances
  • 4-5 changes of comfortable clothing (a washer and dryer are on premises)
  • Comfortable attire for yoga, stretching exercise, and walks
  • Pajamas, robe, and slippers
  • Lightweight jacket
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Toiletries
  • Cigarettes (No cloves, cigars or chewing tobacco are allowed. We support nicotine cessation and will provide nicotine gum on request.)
  • Telephone calling card for long distance calls
  • Eyeglasses or contact lenses
  • Electrical items (i.e. hair dryer) must be approved for safety by the Facilities Department
  • Small family photos, comforters, pillows, or other special items

What not to bring:

  • Electronic media and communication devices (including cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, laptops, cameras, televisions, radios, CD players and musical instruments)
  • Books and magazines those are not recovery-related
  • Work/job materials
  • Food, candy, or beverages
  • Clothing that depicts alcohol, drugs, violence or sex, or tight, revealing or suggestive clothing
  • Expensive jewelry, large amounts of cash, or credit cards
  • Toiletries and products that contain alcohol (i.e. mouthwash and hairspray)
