Career Day at Mission Hospital - OC Catholic

In November 2016, Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo welcomed 5 local high schools from south Orange County to a career day event, which offered students an insight to a career in health care. The students visited stations where physicians, surgical technicians, nurses and physical therapists shared what led them to their chosen career, discussed their meaningful work at Mission Hospital and explained how technology has impacted health care.

One of the sessions focused on surgeons and robotic surgery, which included the opportunity for students to experience firsthand the da Vinci Xi Surgical System. The da Vinci Xi is a robotic-assisted surgical device that allows the surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision, dexterity and control. Surgeons at Mission Hospital utilize the da Vinci Xi Surgical System for general surgery and other surgical specialties including thoracic, gynecology, head and neck, and urology.
