Bridges for Newborn
The Bridges Maternal Child Health Network is funded by the Children and
Families Commission of Orange County.
Mission Hospital is a participating hospital in Bridges for Newborns, one
of four Early Action programs made possible by a grant from the Children
and Families Commission of Orange County. This grant aims to improve the
health and welfare of children in Orange County and give every baby an
opportunity to receive a strong and healthy start. Kits for New Parents
are made available at our Welcome Baby Tour Night.
Families are screened by our Bridges for Newborn Community Service Worker
staff to identify any factors that may prevent the baby from having a
healthy childhood. The Bridges for Newborns Program helps to link parents
to a variety of family-focused assistance programs, including assisting
with identifying important health insurance coverage options for the newborn.
Our staff is very knowledgeable about the resources available to make
life easier for many families in Orange County to find the help they need.
It is easy and cost-free to become involved in the Bridges for Newborns
Program. You will sign a consent form and then a helpful Bridges staff
member will complete a questionnaire with you. All the information you
provide is completely confidential. If it does become necessary to share
information with other providers, you will be notified first.
